HEX and RGB describe the same thing two ways: three channels from 0 to 255. HSL is far easier to manipulate by hand, since hue, saturation and lightness change independently. CMYK is for print and cannot reproduce every colour a screen can show, so a conversion to CMYK is always approximate.
